"How does one know if they are a Christian?"
I will provide you with some scriptures. Read them, meditate upon them, then ask the Holy Spirit to show you in your heart whether you are a Christian. To be 'born again' or 'saved' means to be a Christian. As a Christian we strive daily to be more Christlike, or like Jesus.
In John 3:3, Jesus says, John 3:3 - 4 (KJV) 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
In John 3:16-17, He says, John 3:16 - 17 (KJV) 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
In John 10:7-10, John 10:7 - 10 (KJV) 7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
In Acts 2:21, Peter quotes the prophet Joel: Acts 2:21 (KJV) 21And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
In Acts 4:12, Peter says, Acts 4:12 (KJV) 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
In Acts 16:30-32, a man asked Paul and Silas, Acts 16:30 - 32 (KJV) 30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
Romans 10:12 - 13 (KJV) 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Peter affirms this in Acts 10:34-36, when he says, Acts 10:34 - 36 (KJV) 34Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. 36The word which God sent unto the children of What more can I add? God is no respecter of persons. Can you try to live a perfect life, where you are setting standards for yourself so high that you stumble? Gods standards are Jesus, I will never be that pure, it is impossible for the natural man of the flesh to rise to, But with the grace of God He sees us that way. Amen?
Q. In Acts 10, Peter states that all the prophets witness that through His name whoever believes in Jesus will receive something. What will they receive?
A. Remission of sins.
Acts 10:43 (KJV) 43To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 Are You SAVED? JOHN 3:17 “For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Condemn: To Try; To Punish; To Judge; To Sentence to Saved: To Be Safe; To Deliver; To Preserve God sent his son into the world because he wanted the world to be saved from the bondage of sin and transgression against the law of God. For God would have to condemn and punish all who were judged guilty because of disobedience, lawlessness, rebellion, and sin. This judgment is the discrimination of the moral character of men, and does bring forth a consequence… A Hell where the fire is not quenched! There had to be a way to pardon and free man. God chose “Grace” through Christ; and brought it forth by His atonement sacrifice on Calvary’s tree. It was not the desire of the Heavenly Father, the God of Creation, for man to perish, but have everlasting life with Him. So God ordained mercy and forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. Man could be justified! Man could be redeemed! This would reconcile God and man in Covenant forever. The world could be “Saved"
Are you a whosoever? Do you believe? Have you accepted Christ as your Saviour?
We must believe that all have sinned. That means you and I. Yes, we are guilty and condemned; and sentenced to hell. Unless, we accept Christ as our Saviour.
Spiritual Death is our fate if we continue in the wages (pay, rations) of sin. But we can choose the gift (Free Endowment) of God … Eternal Life through Christ. It is not through “religious” practices, or by “doing good works”, that we please God. We please Him by accepting His “Gift” to us: Eternal Life through Jesus Christ. The gracious purpose of God is to save the world through His Son!
“HEAVENLY FATHER, IN THE NAME OF JESUS, I PRESENT MYSELF TO YOU. I PRAY AND ASK JESUS TO BE LORD OVER MY LIFE. I BELIEVE IN MY HEART, SO I SAY IT WITH MY MOUTH: JESUS HAS BEEN RAISED FROM THE DEAD. THIS MOMENT, I MAKE HIM THE LORD OVER MY LIFE. JESUS, COME INTO MY HEART. I BELIEVE THIS MOMENT THAT I AM SAVED. I SAY IT NOW: I AM REBORN. I AM A CHRISTIAN. I AM A CHILD OF GOD. AMEN!
Then Live a Holy Life before God in line with God's Word and be a Witness for Christ!

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believe? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher! Romans 10:14
